My student Tina from Beijing asks: (edited) I am confused by the difference between the words “venue”, "location" and "place". Would you please explain it for me? My answer: Those are words are quite similar, so the confusion is natural. I'll try to make things clearer. Venue A venue is a place where people come for a planned event, like a meeting, conference, party, concert, trade fair, trial etc.

Location "Location" is used to describe a place geographically: where it is in the world / country / province / city etc. It can also mean a place outside of a studio where they film a movie or TV show.
